Copperplate engraving by Józef Bogdan Dziekoński: 18.5 x 12.2 cm, constituting the cover vignette of the first edition of T. Lenartowicz's poetic collection Lirenka (Poznan 1855, J.K. żupań-ski). Signature of the engraver (bottom, under the drawing): redrawn from Norwid's poesis. Signature of the engraver (bottom left): engraved 313D. The first pencil sketch of this composition was preserved in the album of T. Lenartowicz's album "Umarli i żywi" (Bibl. PAN in Krakow, rkps 2029, k- 120). Information about this composition - which is a poetic transcription of one of Lirenko's poems, entitled The Golden Cup (pp. 57-59) - was left by Norwid himself in his obituary mention of Dziekoński, who was his friend and an ardent admirer of his work: "Not long before his death [July 3, 1855] he engraved J.B. Dziekoński on copper - according to my drawing - a vignette for Lenartowicz: A golden cup, and signed also on the left ...Y at the bottom of the engraving: *rit. J.B.D.► The book, on the other hand, when it came out - check is Easy" (PWsz VI 256).
