The first such rich and comprehensive study of the subject in Polish historical science. The presented subject matter can be divided into two blocks of issues: the environment of the creators and recipients of printed writings (starting with Gothic incunabula and ending with the 18th century book) and the analysis and classification of the various varieties of writing (from Gothic texture to Baroque writing).
